SMASHBURGER Restaurant in El Salvador

June 9, 2014. QSR International, the Master Franchisee of Smashburger fast, casual-, better burger restaurants in Central America, the Caribbean, and parts of South America, announced today the opening of the first Smashburger restaurant in El Salvador. El Salvador will be the second country that QSR International has opened Smashburger restaurants in.

This is the first of three restaurants committed to open in El Salvador over the next two years. Located in Plaza Madero, San Salvador, Capital of El Salvador, this Smashburger restaurant promises to deliver mouthwatering hamburgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, salads, and a variety of signature side dishes to satisfy the local market.

For Corporación Hamburgo S.A. de C.V., El Salvador’s Smashburger franchisee, and multiunit operator of other local brands, marks the opening of their fourth concept. “We’re extremely happy and excited about Smashburger and its menu. In a very short time, they have become one of El Salvador’s valued competitors in the fast, casual restaurant segment.

QSR is currently seeking additional Central american and Caribbean franchise partners for Smashburger, named “America’s Most Promising Company,” by Forbes magazine in 2011.

In addition, and within Costa Rica, QSR owns, licenses, and operates 31 KFC’s, 19 Quiznos, two Smashburgers, five Teriyaki Experience restaurants, one Cinnabon, and one Centenario Rum Bar & Café. In the next 12 months, QSR will open four additional KFC restaurants and three more Smashburger restaurants in Costa Rica, where QSR bases a 10,000-square-foot Restaurant Support Center employing over 90 persons.
